Austrian Consul General Elizabeth Kehrer and William A. Peck, M.D. (left), executive vice chancellor of medical affairs and dean of the medical school, congratulate Glenn C. Conroy, Ph.D., professor of anatomy and of anthropology, on his reception of the Austrian Decoration of Honor for Science and Art, First Class. The award — the highest scientific honor given by the Republic of Austria — was presented to Conroy for his many years of collaborative paleoanthropological research with scientists from the University of Vienna. The researchers’ work on computerized tomography of early human fossils from Africa has helped create the new field of “virtual anthropology.”
