2004 Olin Cup Competition workshop series begins Feb. 24

The John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis announces a new workshop series to support university and community entrepreneurs. The workshop series is part of the 2004 Olin Cup Entrepreneurship Competition. The goal of the competition is to support people interested in starting new business ventures. Fifty workshops are planned for the year ahead. The workshop series debuts this month with discussions on “Idea/Opportunity Evaluation.”

On February 24, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Patricia J. Snider, President & CEO of BioGenerator, will speak in the Shaeffer Conference Room in the McDonnell Sciences Building on the Washington University Medical Campus. On February 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., William Simon, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Center for Emerging Technologies, will speak at the Olin School of Business in Room 109 at Simon Hall on the Washington University Hilltop Campus.

The workshops are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted, and will be located on both the Medical and Hilltop Campuses of Washington University.

The Olin Cup Competition is part of the Skandalaris Entrepreneurship Program at Washington University in St. Louis, recognized nationally as one of the leading business school programs in entrepreneurship. The Olin Cup Competition helps entrepreneurs by providing educational and networking opportunities, as well as exposure to mentors, advisors and local incubators. Washington University was recently awarded a $3 million grant by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to expand entrepreneurship education campus-wide.
