Annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event at Campus Store Nov. 28

The Campus Store will give Washington University faculty and staff members an opportunity to do some holiday shopping early this year.

The store will hold its 10th annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event Nov. 28 and will offer a 30 percent discount to Washington Univeristy faculty and staff members from 3-8 p.m.

Nationally recognized author Ridley Pearson also will be on hand to sign copies of his books beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Pearson is the author of numerous suspense novels for adults as well as a series of children’s adventure books, co-authored with Dave Barry, that constitute a prequel to the familiar Peter Pan story.

“We are thrilled to be hosting our 10th Faculty/Staff Appreciation,” said Betsy Schneider, Campus Store director. “Serving the Washington University community is an honor, and we will continue our hard work to meet or exceed the expectations of our customer.”

The 30 percent discount is good for general reading books and merchandise, including clothing and gifts. Computer hardware, software and peripherals, New York Times Best Sellers, magazines and convenience items are not eligible for the discount.

To receive the discount, faculty and staff members will need to bring either their WUSTL I.D. cards or an invitation to the event, which will be sent via campus mail in mid-November.

WUSTL faculty and staff members normally receive a 20 percent discount at the bookstore.

In addition to the appearance by Pearson, the event will feature door prizes, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments and a performance from 3-6:30 p.m. by the William Lenihan Trio, a jazz band led by William Lenihan, director of jazz performance in the Department of Music in Arts & Sciences.

The bookstore is located on the main floor of Mallinckrodt Student Center on the University’s Danforth Campus.
