U.S. Ambassador Danforth to deliver major policy address Oct. 22 in Graham Chapel

WHO: John C. (Jack) Danforth, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations since July 1. A native St. Louisan, Danforth represented Missouri in the U.S. Senate for 18 years until retiring from the Senate at the end of 1994. He recently served as President Bush’s special envoy to the peace process in Sudan in northern Africa.

WHAT: Danforth will deliver a major policy address that will focus on his vision of the United Nations’ role in working to resolve international crises. The event is open only to the Washington University community, including students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Media are invited to cover the address, which is expected to be about 20 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.

WHERE: Graham Chapel at Washington University in St. Louis. The chapel is located just north of the Mallinckrodt Student Center, 6445 Forsyth Blvd.
