Morgan sets American record at Paralympic Games

Kerri Morgan, instructor in the Program in Occupational Therapy, set a U.S. record in the women’s 100-meter T52 wheelchair track race at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing Sept. 15.

Morgan’s U.S. record was also a season-best time for the 100-meter event. She placed first among the American athletes with a time of 21.56 seconds for fifth place overall, not even two seconds behind Canadian gold medalist Michelle Stilwell, who set a new world record with her time of 19.97.

Morgan was the first American competitor to finish the 200-meter T52 wheelchair track race with a time of 40:82, also fifth place.

Stillwell won the gold medal in this event as well with a time of 36:18.
