A good measure

Architecture graduate students Chris Rehwoldt (left) and Lucas Lopez measure a set of louvers that they cut and attached to the outer frame of a shelter recently constructed on the Ruth Park Golf Course in University City. The shelter was a class project in a fall graduate design/build studio led by Carl Safe, professor of architecture in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. The assignment required that students present a design for the shelter, create construction documents, purchase materials in accordance with a set budget and build the shelter.
