Service Awards ceremony May 18

Washington University’s Service Awards ceremony, hosted by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, will take place at 2:30 p.m. May 18 at Edison Theatre. The ceremony will honor those with 10, 15, 20, 26 and 30-plus years of service to the University.

Wrighton also will present the 12th annual Gloria W. White Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a Danforth Campus nonacademic staff member for his or her exceptional effort and contribution to the University.

The names of those who attend the presentations will be entered into a drawing for several prizes, including two round-trip airline tickets. Employees must be present to win.

The traditional Staff Day events won’t be held this year due to the current economic situation, but Ted Drewes frozen custard still will be available in Bowles Plaza immediately after the service award ceremony.

The University also asks staff members to please remember those less fortunate and drop off a canned food item in marked collection barrels outside of Edison Theatre the day of the service award presentations. All donations will go to the St. Louis Area Food Bank.
