New students move in

WHAT: More than 1,400 Washington University freshmen will move into the South 40 residence halls on Thursday, Aug. 20. With help from family, friends and upperclassmen, the students will be hauling everything from refrigerators and microwaves to carpets, bicycles and stereo systems into their new homes away from home. Trucks, vans, U-Hauls and station wagons will line the South 40 driveways.

WHERE: Washington University’s South 40. Enter at Wydown Boulevard and Shepley Drive (near intersection of Wydown and Big Bend boulevards). The best location to catch a large number of students unloading their goods will be the parking lot between Lee and Umrath halls.

WHEN: All day Thursday, Aug. 20. The best time will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please call (314) 935-5230 if you plan on coming to the South 40 and Public Affairs will have someone from our office there to assist you. Please note that parking will be very limited on the South 40.
