‘OLINpics’ go for the gold

Before speed skaters, bobsledders and skiers grabbed the limelight at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Olin MBA student Shaun Hudson was going for the gold at the “OLINpics” Feb. 11 in the Knight Center. Hudson outpaced a pack of 20 hungry contestants in the hot wing competition by consuming 20 wings in two minutes. A Wii Olympic tournament and videos of Olympic ads and athletes attracted a crowd of 80 at the event sponsored by the Olin Marketing Association. More than $1,000 was raised to benefit Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis’ summer Adventure Camp for children with disabilities. The OLINpics continue at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Brandt’s Cafe in the University City Loop with an Olympic trivia contest. Registration is not required but donations are encouraged. Trivia participants will not be required to pay a cover charge for jazz musician Erin Bode’s live performance if they arrive before 7:30 p.m.
