Andrew Scott Paluba (BFA ’00)

New York

Andrew Scott Paluba is co-founder and creative director for Rebecca & Drew Manufacturing, a New York-based fashion design and manufacturing company predicated on a revolutionary new sizing system that Paluba developed with Rebecca Matchett.

Born and raised New York, Paluba earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in fashion from Washington University in 2000 and launched Rebecca & Drew four years later. The company eschews the common “2,4,6,8” method of sizing women’s clothing in favor of it’s patented TrioFit sizing method, which incorporates factors such as height and bust-size measurements. The resulting garments offer a highly tailored — almost custom — fit, yet are still available off the rack.

Paluba’s responsibilities include product design & development, creative direction, marketing development (including e-commerce website architecture and programming; promotional materials; art direction and photography) and merchandising Rebecca & Drew’s retail stores. In addition to his creative responsibilities Paluba also certifies factories all over the world to manufacture clothing featuring the TrioFit system.

Paluba and Matchett expanded their use of TrioFit through a successful partnership with HSN to create Sophie Hudson, a line of women’s tops and dresses, which Paluba sold “on-air.”

Along with his own fashion design work, Paluba has leveraged his retail and product innovations in pursuit of more altruistic ends, including responsible design-driven management practices intended to reduce and/or reuse any potential waste in the production process. Paluba also has hosted and donated to numerous philanthropic organizations, and co-founded the Sprout non-profit art organization to give a greater voice to emerging artists globally. Past judges for Sprout have included curators from the nation’s most prestigious museums and print publications, and Sprout events have garnered national attention from major art and fashion media.
