Eckmann installed as first William T. Kemper Director

Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton (center) congratulates Sabine Eckmann, PhD (left), at a March 2 ceremony in Steinberg Auditorium installing Eckmann as the first William T. Kemper Director of the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. Also offering congratulations is Carmon Colangelo, dean of the Sam Fox School and the E. Desmond Lee Professor for Collaboration in the Arts. Under Eckmann’s guidance, the Kemper Museum has curated a host of successful exhibitions and has expanded its educational programs to meet growing interest in the unique permanent collection. The directorship is made possible by the William T. Kemper Foundation, established in 1989 to support the arts, education, civic improvements, and health and human services throughout Missouri, Kansas and western Illinois.
