Gearing up for growth after the recession

Expert says business must be ready to respond as economy revives

When the economy begins to recover, will companies be ready to respond and grow again?

Preparing for economic good times will be the topic at the next Olin Business School Thought Leadership discussion, 7:30-9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 2 at Commerce Bank, 922 Walnut, Kansas City, Mo. Olin senior lecturer in marketing, Samuel Chun will be the featured speaker.

“Growth during a severe contraction often leaves companies reeling when they realize they can’t service heightened order flow as it enters their books,” says Chun. He warns that the service sector as well as manufacturing can suffer consequences if not prepared to respond to a resurgence in demand.

Chun will discuss the current economic outlook and examples of how companies can handle economic growth when it comes back, “because,” he says, “it will.”

The Thought Leadership series is sponsored by Washington University in St. Louis’ Olin Business School executive education program. No registration fee is required, but reservations are requested. Contact: Dwilliams@wustl.edu or call 314-935-3622 for more information.
