Holly Williams Leppo, AIA, LEED AP (MArch ’00)

Holly Williams Leppo is an architect and vice-president at SMB&R, Inc., an architecture, structural engineering and interior design firm in Camp Hill, PA. She specializes in adapting old building forms for new uses, including the study of applicable building codes; accessibility requirements; appropriate historical forms and proportions; and integration of new technologies, building materials and techniques into the historic context.

Raised in Saxton, PA, Leppo received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in integrative arts in 1998 from The Pennsylvania State University, where she was named to Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Master of Architecture degree from Washington University in 2000 and also served as president of Graduate-Professional Council and as Graduate Student Representative to the Board of Trustees. A LEED Accredited Professional, she holds professional certifications from the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards and the National Council for Interior Design Qualification.

Prior to joining SMB&R, in 2005, Leppo was employed by Hopke & Associates, Inc., in Williamsburg, VA, where she also served a two-year appointment to the City of Williamsburg Architectural Review Board. Between 2006-09, Leppo authored five technical review guides for Professional Publications, Inc., of Belmont, CA. The guides are designed to assist candidates for the Architect Registration Exam in preparing for professional licensing exams. In addition, she is the author of PPI’s series of LEED AP exam preparation materials.

Earlier this year, Leppo was named one of Building Design + Construction Magazine’s “40 Under 40: Superstars of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Industry.” She was also named to the Central Penn Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” for 2009.

Leppo is a member of the American Institute of Architects and serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Pennsylvania AIA. She is a member of the International Code Council. She has volunteered with Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership and with Junior Achievement.
