December recognition

Robyn Danielle Cooper (left), a candidate for a bachelor of arts degree in the College of Arts & Sciences, smiles as she receives a memento from Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton at the December Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony in Graham Chapel Dec. 4. Cooper was among 750 students who filed as December degree candidates. Looking on is Robert M. Wild, assistant to the chancellor. Below, Anna Crosslin, president and executive director of St. Louis’ International Institute and an alumna of Washington University in St. Louis, delivers remarks at the ceremony. Crosslin earned a bachelor of arts in political science in Arts & Sciences in 1972 and received an honorary doctorate of humanities in 2006. Founded in 1919, the International Institute is nationally recognized for its programs designed to move refugees and immigrants quickly from overwhelming dependence to productivity and self-sufficiency.
