Groups raise funds to go toward Japan relief

(From left) Chihiro Sato (in hat), a postdoctoral research scholar in developmental biology; Miyuki Sasaki; Yuri Matsumoto, wife of Hitoshi Matsumoto, a postdoctoral research scholar in internal medicine; and Mihoko Yoshino, wife of Jun Yoshino, a postdoctoral research associate in developmental biology, with the Japanese Happy Hour (JHH), a scientfic study group of Japanese researchers, sold custom-designed T-shirts March 23 in the Shell Lobby to benefit relief efforts in Japan. In addition, the Washington University Spouses & Partners Association sold handmade Japanese crafts and baked goods. The groups raised a total of about $7,500. All of the money raised will be donated to organizations that help relief activities in Japan.
