Celebrating undergraduate research

In recognition of national Undergraduate Research Week, April 11-15, research posters of Washington University undergraduate students were displayed on trees along Oak Walk. The Washington University Office of Undergraduate Research held a number of events last week to raise awareness about the importance of undergraduate research experiences for students’ development and engagement in a discipline. Among the week’s activities was providing information to faculty at the Medical Campus about how to engage undergraduates in their research; undergraduates giving poster presentations for two days at the Danforth University Center; and an information session April 15 about the research opportunities for incoming and prospective students attending Multicultural Celebration Weekend. WUSTL students will have another opportunity to present their research; the Spring 2011 Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held April 30.
