Above: Graduating senior Frances Fei and her father drop off a TV and other items for donation to the Share Our Stuff (SOS) “Lightening Your Load” event May 21 at the Academy Building. At the event — sponsored by Ames Place, Neighborhood Voice and the WUSTL Office of Sustainability — WUSTL students in the process of moving out and other community members could donate unneeded items to Goodwill rather than throw them away. A drop-off point was located at the Academy Building, just north of the Danforth Campus, and curbside pickup by Goodwill trucks also was available. Below: WUSTL SOS volunteers — (from left) Daniel Bentle of the Office of Sustainability; Ashley Swanson-Hoye of the Office of Residential Life and Cheryl Adelstein of the Office of Government and Community Relations — help load a Goodwill truck at the Academy Building with donated items. The “Lightening Your Load” event collected approximately 34,000 pounds, or 17 tons, of items for Goodwill. Though the Academy Building drop-off point has closed, other SOS drop-off points will remain open until Aug. 8: 725 Kingsland Ave., 6188 McPherson Ave. and 6654 Washington Ave. For more information about SOS, call (314) 935-6214.
