Undergraduate Research Symposium Oct. 22 features more than 150 projects

Summer projects of more than 150 students will be showcased during the Undergraduate Research Symposium Saturday, Oct. 22. Itai Sened, honored as “Mentor of the Year,” will deliver the keynote address at noon in Room 300 of the Lab Sciences Building.

Sened, PhD, director of the Center for New Institutional Social Sciences and professor of political science in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, was nominated by undergraduate researcher Daniel Guenther. Following Sened’s address, two students also will deliver presentations.

At 1 p.m., the 25 “Mentor of the Year” nominees will be honored at a reception in the Olin Library Gingko Room.

A poster presentation featuring the many student projects will take place from 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m. on Olin Library’s main level.

Students are encouraged to attend, speak with fellow undergraduate researchers and learn more about securing a research position.
