Campus Y kicks off annual support campaign Nov. 17

Branch celebrates 100 years on campus in 2011

The Campus Y at Washington University in St. Louis is celebrating its 100th year on campus in 2011 and kicking off its “Strong Community Campaign” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Whittemore House. The celebration is open to the public.

Organizers hope to raise $70,500 through the campaign, which runs until the end of February.

The annual campaign helps support 28 community service programs. More than 900 students and 92 student leaders are involved with these programs.

At the kickoff event, two students will speak about their experiences with the Campus Y: student director Anthonia Ojo, a senior biology/psychology major in Arts & Sciences, and volunteer Chance Grance, a MBA/MSW student.

Campus Y Executive Director Tiffany Barke and Jill Carnaghi, associate vice chancellor for students & dean of campus life, also will speak.

To donate, stop by the Campus Y temporary location in Room 110 of Eliot Hall or go online to ymcastlouis.org/washington-university-campus-ymca.
