Kick-off event for MBA student's 2,500-mile hike for charity

WHAT: The kick-off event for MBA student Mike McLaughlin’s 2,500-mile six-month back-to-back through-hike of the Appalachian and Ozark trails to raise money for the St. Louis Family Resource Center and a school for neglected blind children in Cameroon, Africa.

WHEN: Noon, Friday, Feb. 24

WHY: McLaughlin leaves following the kick-off event for his six-month hike. He is trying to raise money and awareness for neglected and abused children around the world. A victim of abuse himself, the issue is very close to him.
