Register now for spring Mini-Medical School

Registration is now open for the School of Medicine’s Mini-Medical School, now in its 14th year. These eight-week sessions offer the WUSTL community and the public an opportunity to learn about medicine and surgery from the School of Medicine faculty in a classroom environment.

Mini-Medical School I will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays from March 27-May 15. Topics include disorders of the eye; the real emergency room; childhood cancer; atrial fibrillation; minimally invasive surgery with a suture lab; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; tick-borne diseases; Alzheimer’s disease; and many others. Mini-Medical School I must be taken before registering for Mini-Medical School II.

Mini-Med School II will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursdays from March 29-May 17. Topics include depression; medical imaging; hip and knee replacement; breast cancer; adult CPR certification; physical examination and anatomy lab; physical therapy and PT lab; Tourette Syndrome and other tic disorders; and cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with a microsurgery lab, and many others.

Both courses include labs, a syllabus and refreshments. Enrollment is limited to 110 students for each course, which is open to anyone 15 years old and up and costs $150 per person.
