Carnaval tickets now on sale

Tickets now are on sale for “Carnaval,” a yearly cultural show organized by the Washington University in St. Louis’ Association of Latin American Students. More than 130 students are participating in skits, dances and musical acts to highlight the beauty, creativity and richness of Latin American culture.

Each year, organizers seek to educate the public on an issue pertinent to the Latino community. This year’s skit will explore the theme of racism within the Latino population in a humorous, yet genuine way.

Carnaval also will feature newer dances, as well as some older favorites, such as bellydancing, samba and salsa.

The show is being performed at 7 p.m. Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31, in Edison Theatre.

Tickets cost $10 and are available through the Edison Theatre box office.

Proceeds will benefit a yet-to-be-determined charity.
