McLeod's Way
McLeod’s Way, a new landscaped gathering place on the South 40 that honors James E. “Jim” McLeod, WUSTL’s beloved vice chancellor for students and dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, was dedicated at a ceremony at Graham Chapel Sept. 15. McLeod died in 2011 after a two-year battle with cancer. Above: Shaun C. Koiner, a 2004 WUSTL alumnus and one of McLeod’s former students, speaks during the ceremony. Also speaking were (from left, seated) Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton; Clara P. McLeod, Jim McLeod’s wife and Earth and Planetary Sciences librarian; Gerald L. Early, PhD, the Merle Kling Professor of Modern Letters in Arts & Sciences; and Wayne D. Fields, PhD, the Lynne Cooper Harvey Distinguished Professor in English in Arts & Sciences. Below: After the dedication ceremony, attendees processed to McLeod’s Way on the South 40 for a reception and refreshments.
