The U.S. Government Printing Office honored Olin Library for excellence as a Federal Depository Library.
Olin, which was selected along with Newark Public Library in New Jersey and the University of Buffalo Libraries in New York. West Campus Librarian Barbara Rehkop, subject bibliographer for government information, political science and economics, went to Washington, D.C. to accept the award during a conference Oct. 15-18.
Olin Library was selected for providing training opportunities to librarians at the 12 other depository libraries in the St. Louis metro area and for collaborating with its regional depository library in Columbia, Mo., to serve the needs of the metro area, the GPO says.
“I commend the Newark Public Library, the Olin Library, and the
University at Buffalo Libraries for their contributions
and outstanding commitment to serving their communities,” Acting Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks says. “GPO thanks all of the Federal depository libraries for playing a critical role in providing and expanding public access to Government information.”
As a depository library since 1906, Olin maintains and makes available a wide variety of official documents from all three branches of the U.S. government.
