Passover opportunities for students, families

Jewish families in the WUSTL community are encouraged to consider hosting a student for Passover.

St. Louis Hillel seeks families to open their homes and share a warm, home-away-from-home Passover experience with students. Through Hillel’s annual Passover Home Hospitality Program, community members can host one or more students for the First and/or Second Night Seders on March 25 and 26. To participate, hosts and students must register by March 20. Matches will be made on March 21.

Additional options for students include a free First Night “Freedom Fest” Seder led by Rabbi Andy Kastner and a “Do Your Own Seder” program. Students participating in that program can create their own Seder traditions with friends using resources from St. Louis Hillel. Students receive a filled Seder plate and box of matzah, borrow haggadot, attend Seder leader workshops and have access to guides and a $5-per-person meal subsidy.

In addition, Washington University Dining Services now provides “Kosher for Passover” meals as part of its regular meal program. Bon Appétit Management Company, a partner of Dining Services, will prepare the meals under the supervision of the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis.
