Learning about diversity in recruitment, hiring and retention

The Campus Diversity Collaborative and the Office of Human Resources teamed up March 26 to offer a panel discussion in College Hall on “Diversity in Recruitment, Hiring and Retention: Challenges and Resources.” Panelists discussed their research expertise and professional experience related to diversity and inclusion during the event, which was attended by more than 80 staff and faculty members who have hiring responsibilities. Facilitated by Leah Merrifield, executive director for academic-civic engagement in government and community relations, the event’s featured speakers were, from left, Rochelle Smith, director of diversity, summer programs and community outreach in Biology and Biomedical Science Graduate Affairs at the School of Medicine; Lorraine Goffe-Rush, assistant vice chancellor for human resources; and John Baugh, PhD, Margaret Bush Wilson Professor in Arts & Sciences.
