Women in IT mentoring program kickoff scheduled

The opening session of “SPIN-IT: A Leadership Program for Women in IT” will be held April 24.

The SPIN-IT program aims to encourage and support WUSTL female staff members and students who are pursuing information technology careers.

The kickoff for the program will feature a guest speaker, Vivian Eveloff, director of the Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The event is open to members of the WUSTL community, especially those interested in information technology, but space is limited.

It will be from 3-4:30 p.m. April 24 at College Hall on the South 40 area of campus. To RSVP, visit here.

The event also will include an introduction of the 15 participants and their mentors and a video from women leaders at the university discussing the importance of mentoring.

The program was among the winners of this year’s Diversity and Inclusion Grants program, funded by the Office of the Provost.
