Washington University in St. Louis is launching a Climate Change Initiative (WUCCI) aimed at expanding scientific research, education and public understanding of global climate change.
established in June 2007 to encourage and coordinate university-wide and external collaborative research on energy, environment and sustainability that cannot be done by single investigators or by single disciplines alone.
A key goal of I-CARES is to foster institutional, regional and international research on:
- the exploration of alternative renewable energy sources; and
- the exploration of sustainable environmental systems and practices.
The other I-CARES signature initiatives are the Consortium for Clean Coal Utilization, the McDonnell Academy Global Energy & Environmental Partnership, the Office of Sustainability, the Photosynthetic Antenna Research Center and the Tyson Research Center.
