Shuttle service expanded to Central West End

A shuttle service that provides rides home to School of Medicine students and employees has been expanded to include the Central West End.

Since February, the service has been providing rides home to students and employees who live in the Skinker/DeBaliviere/Parkview neighborhoods. The expanded service, which already has begun, includes rides home for Central West End residents who live within the area bordered by Kingshighway to North Vandeventer Avenue, and Forest Park Avenue to Delmar Boulevard.

The 15-passenger vans — each with signs marked “WUSM shuttle DEB/CWE” — depart from the Olin Circle on the hour and half-hour from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. The shuttles do not operate Saturdays and Sundays.

Those seeking rides to these neighborhoods are required to have a Washington University ID badge.

This shuttle service is in addition to the School of Medicine’s security escort service. The “2-HELP” security vans will continue to service areas of the Central West End immediately north of campus as well as Forest Park Southeast to the south of campus on an on-call basis. For that service, call 314-362-4357.
