MetroLink repairs close portions of the 276 Skinker Building sidewalk

Due to emergency MetroLink repairs, portions of the sidewalk along the southern edge of the 276 Skinker Building will be closed for four to five weeks.

Metro has discovered a collapsed beam underneath the sidewalk and has dispatched workers to excavate the sidewalk and shore up the beam.

Workers will be using jackhammers, so expect extra noise in the vicinity. Construction is expected to last two to three weeks; the sidewalk will remain closed an additional two weeks as the concrete cures.

Until work is complete, access to the building’s parking lot via the southeast footpath will likely be unavailable. Kayak’s also must close outdoor seating along the south edge of the building.

MetroLink will remain fully operational during the repairs.
