Olin Library expands overnight hours

Following a successful trial run during the 2012-2013 academic year, Olin Library has expanded 24-hour access to five nights a week.

Olin Library is now open from 10 a.m. Sundays until 8 p.m. Fridays when fall and spring semester classes are in session. On Saturdays, Olin’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., except during reading and exam periods, when the library will provide 24/7 access throughout the weekend as well.

As one student pointed out during last year’s experimental phase, “inspiration comes at all hours” and the extended access has been popular among students.

“During the 24-hour pilot last school year, students used Olin at all hours of the night, every night we were open,” said Sarah Laaker, manager of user space planning and campus liaison. “This demonstrated that Olin is an important study space for students all day and all night, and we’re excited to provide another night of all-night access to support the wide variety of lifestyles and study habits on campus.”
