Harnessing the sun’s power

A worker installs a portion of a 50-kilowatt ground-mounted solar array at Washington University in St. Louis’ Tyson Research Center. This spring and summer, the university is adding 379 kW of solar energy throughout all campuses, a move that will increase its solar output by more than 1,150 percent over previous levels. The investment will pay off by producing enough emission-free energy to power 53 average U.S. homes — at a savings of $190,000 over 10 years. For more information, visit here.
