Flags to be lowered in remembrance of 9/11

Washington University in St. Louis will pause today to remember the thousands of lives lost in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The university and U.S. flags over Brookings Hall will be lowered to half-staff from this morning until sunset. In addition, the chimes in the bell tower of Graham Chapel will toll for five minutes beginning at 9:28 a.m., the time the World Trade Center’s North Tower collapsed in New York 13 years ago.
