Knese receives NSF grant for math research

Knese

Gregory Knese, PhD, assistant professor of mathematics in Arts & Sciences, has been awarded a $138,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for his project “Harmonic Analysis and Spaces of Analytic Functions in Several Variables.”

Operator theory, harmonic analysis, and analytic function theory of one variable form a collection of interwoven fields that were created to solve some of the most important problems in pure and applied mathematics.

Kneseā€™s goal with this project is to expand some known and particularly strong interactions of these fundamental subjects in more than one variable to build a more robust toolbox for addressing fundamentally multidimensional problems.
