Faculty in the Division of Emergency Medicine are hosting a regional conference on out-of-hospital medicine from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23 and 24, at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis. Out-of-hospital medicine refers to treatment provided by emergency medical services (EMS) agencies that operate under the supervision of physicians.
The Code3 Conference will feature local and national speakers who will address topics ranging from the Ebola virus to narcotic overdoses to care of patients subjected to stun guns. Each conference session will last 20 minutes.
“This conference is one of the first in the area to focus on the newest research and most up-to-date studies in out-of-hospital medicine,” said Mark Levine, MD, one of the conference organizers and associate professor of emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. “We hope that attendees will take away the knowledge and information they need to provide better patient care and improve patient outcomes.”
Participants can register online before the conference or the day of the conference.
