New compliance training system on the way

Washington University in St. Louis faculty and staff members have many mandatory compliance and training requirements that must be completed upon hire and on an ongoing basis. The current processes for training, monitoring, and notifications have proved uncoordinated, difficult to manage and cumbersome.

In June 2013, the Faculty Practice Plan Clinical Practice Committee at the School of Medicine commissioned a task force to develop recommendations with the goal of creating a faculty-centric and user-friendly portal to access and track all compliance training requirements and developing a coordinated process to notify faculty and staff of their upcoming activities.

As a result of the task force’s findings and recommendations, Washington University decided to implement a new universitywide learning management system called Learn@Work. Learn@Work is a cloud-based application that will replace the current compliance training system (RAS).

Learn@Work will provide faculty and staff with:

• a single Web-based site to accurately track and complete compliance activities;
• a “dashboard” view of assigned compliance training;
• a monthly email summary of all assigned compliance training; and
• the ability to access compliance training from mobile devices.

Implementation is scheduled for March 2015. More details will be forthcoming.
