Macias receiving honorary degree from Colgate University

Edward S. Macias, PhD, provost emeritus and the Barbara and David Thomas Distinguished Professor in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, will receive an honorary degree from his alma mater Colgate University in May.

Macias earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University in 1966 and a doctorate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1970.

Macias has been a faculty member at Washington University for 45 years and has served a variety of leadership roles in the university’s administration, including 25 years as the university’s chief academic officer.
