G. Alexander Patterson, MD, the Joseph C. Bancroft Professor of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named editor of The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, a peer-reviewed journal in cardiothoracic surgery.
Patterson, who specializes in lung transplantation and lung surgery for cancer and emphysema, was elected editor Jan. 26 at the annual meeting of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. His term lasts five years. The Annals of Thoracic Surgery is the official journal of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.
