Parking rates to increase

​Permits expire June 30

Annual Washington University in St. Louis parking permits expire June 30, and some permit prices are increasing.

Permits can be renewed online at parking.wustl.edu or at the Parking and Transportation Services office on the North Campus.

Prices for red, yellow, blue, brown, green, North Campus, Bearly Drivers, official business and evening permits have increased for the 2015-16 school year. The price for all other permits remains unchanged.

The most economical option is the off-site permit, which costs $15 and provides spaces at West and North Campuses for Danforth Campus employees. Two-hundred permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Another cost-effective option is the Bearly Drivers Carpool permit. The annual permit fee for a carpool of two members is $300. A three-member carpool permit is $200, and a four-member permit costs $100.

Carpool participants receive two free daily yellow parking permits each month and have access to priority parking. Employees must register their carpools with Parking and Transportation Services to receive benefits.

The price of the Occasional Parking Program will not change for this academic year. Full-time employees and students may purchase up to 48 daily permits annually at the discounted rate of $2.50 each. Part-time employees and students may purchase up to 24 daily permits annually at the discounted rate of $2.50 each.

Other transportation options include Metro bus and MetroLink. All full-time students and benefit-eligible employees are provided a free U-Pass.

The Enterprise Car-Share Program also provides hybrid rental cars for students and staff.
