Michael Mullins, MD, associate professor of emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, recently completed the Harvard Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program through Harvard Medical School. The program provides clinicians and clinician-scientists advanced training in clinical research.

Participants in the one-year certificate program attend 60 online lectures and webinars and meet three times a year (twice at University College London and once at Harvard).

A centerpiece of the program is the individual capstone project, a research proposal framed as a grant application. Mullins’ project, “Mesoamerican Nephropathy in Agricultural Workers in the Dominican Republic,” scored in the top fifth of the class of 190 students.
