Tate receives American Educational Research Association lifetime achievement award

William F. Tate, PhD, dean of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, received the 2015 Distinguished Contributions to Social Contexts in Education Research-Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Educational Research Association-Division G (AERA) for his research on social and science policy.

Tate is also the vice provost for graduate education and the Edward Mallinckrodt Distinguished University Professor in Arts & Sciences.

The Distinguished Contributions to Social Contexts in Education Research-Lifetime Achievement Award honors individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the systematic examination of the role of social context in education and represents a lifetime achievement award.

The AERA is a national research society that seeks to advance knowledge about education and promotes use of research to improve education and serve the public good.
