Biswas receives prestigious award for environmental chemical engineering

Pratim Biswas, PhD, has been selected to receive the 2015 Lawrence K. Cecil Award in Environmental Chemical Engineering from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Biswas is the Lucy and Stanley Lopata Professor and chair of the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis.

The award is given by the institute’s environmental division in recognition of an individual’s outstanding chemical engineering contribution and achievement in preserving or improving the environment. The recipient must be an institute member, have 15 years of chemical engineering experience in the environmental field and demonstrate leadership in research, teaching, engineering or regulatory activities in either the public or private sector.
