Postdoctoral fellow launches digital journal of Yiddish studies

Zaritt

Saul Noam Zaritt, PhD, has launched a new digital journal of Yiddish studies. Zaritt is the Friedman Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies in the Department of Jewish, Islamic, and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis.

Titled “In geveb” (Yiddish for “in the web”), the journal went live Aug. 17. In addition to peer-reviewed articles, “In geveb” hosts a blog, publishes new translations of Yiddish literature, and facilitates the sharing of teaching materials between Yiddish language instructors. “Our goal is to create a journal that reflects past forms of Yiddish intellectual life while signaling our commitment to new horizons for Yiddish studies,” Zaritt said.
