Schreiber named co-editor-in-chief of cancer immunology journal

Robert Schreiber, PhD, the Alumni Professor of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named a co-editor-in-chief of Cancer Immunology Research.

Schreiber and fellow editor-in-chief Philip Greenberg, MD, of the University of Washington, will set goals and determine editorial strategy for the journal. The peer-reviewed journal, published by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), publishes original articles on topics such as host-tumor interactions, developmental therapeutics in model systems, early translational studies in patients, and late-stage clinical trials.“We hope to establish the journal as the definitive voice in this rapidly expanding field,” Schreiber said.

Schreiber also is director of the Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs and a professor of molecular microbiology at the School of Medicine, and a co-leader of the tumor immunology program at Siteman Cancer Center.

His cancer immunology research has helped establish a clearer understanding of how cancer evades detection by the immune system and has defined methods to personalize cancer immunotherapy.
