The National Digital Stewardship Alliance has awarded “Documenting Ferguson” a 2015 Innovation Award. Judges stated that “by providing long-term access to digital media surrounding recent historical events, this project helps set a new framework for digital preservation.”

Launched by Washington University Libraries in the days after the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, “Documenting Ferguson” is a digital repository of photographs, video and other content created and captured by community members. The online archive is free and accessible to all.
