Symposium honors Lamberton and Rotroff

Classics hosts 'Texts and Contexts' Nov. 21

Four distinguished classics scholars will gather in Umrath Lounge at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, for “Texts and Contexts: A Symposium to Honor Robert Lamberton and Susan Rotroff.”

Speakers will include Alan Shapiro, PhD, of Johns Hopkins University; Joseph Day, PhD, of Wabash College; Kathleen Coleman, PhD, of Harvard University; and Noel Lenski, PhD, of Yale University.

Sponsored by the Department of Classics and the Department of Art History & Archaeology, both in Arts & Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, the symposium honors Lamberton, PhD, professor emeritus of classics, and Rotroff, PhD, the Jarvis Thurston & Mona Van Duyn Professor Emerita.

In addition, the Department of Classics has created the Robert Lamberton and Susan Rotroff Fund, which will support summer study by undergraduate or graduate students in classical studies. To contribute to the fund, visit gifts.wustl.edu.
