B​radley H. Short, Washington University in St. Louis’ music librarian and head of departmental libraries, has been promoted to the position of associate university librarian.

Short joined Washington University Libraries​ in 1994 as music librarian. In 2002, he was named music, film, theater and dance librarian. From 2004 to 2007, he served as interim monographic acquisitions librarian. He was made head of the university’s six departmental libraries in 2014.

In his new position, Short will retain the title of head of the Gaylord Music Library and continue to oversee two of the university’s departmental libraries, the Kenneth and Nancy Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library and the East Asian Library. He also will supervise all of the Libraries’ technical services units, including acquisitions and cataloging.
