Sean M. Savoie, senior lecturer in performing arts in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has received two nominations in the St. Louis Theater Circle’s 2015 Awards.

Savoie, who coordinates the Performing Arts Department’s Design-Technical Theater Program, was nominated for “Outstanding lighting design in a musical” for The Black Rep production of “Once on This Island,” as well as for Stages St. Louis’ “Anything Goes.” Last spring, “Once on This Island” was presented in the university’s Edison Theatre. The Black Rep is led by founder Ron Himes, an alumnus who serves as the university’s Henry E. Hampton, Jr. Artist-in-Residence.

Now in their fourth year, the Theatre Circle Awards are judged by a group of 15 local theater critics. Winners will be announced March 21. Last month, Savoie’s work for “Anything Goes” won “Best Lighting Design in a Musical, 2015″ in the Broadway World St. Louis Awards.
