Sarah Gehlert, the E. Desmond Lee Professor of Racial and Ethnic Diversity at the Brown School, has been named to the steering committee of the California Breast Cancer Research Program.
She will help lead a significant breast-cancer research funding effort focused on the environment, disparities and prevention. The Program Initiatives Steering Committee will begin work in July and end in 2021.
Gehlert is also professor in the Department of Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She is also a scholar in the university’s Institute for Public Health.
