Program for students in recovery launches

WashU Recovery Group logoWashington University in St. Louis has received a $10,000 grant from the nonprofit group Transforming Youth Recovery to assist students in recovery from substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors.

Amanda Hoylman, assistant director for health promotion services at Habif Health & Wellness Center, applied for the grant to create a sustainable recovery program on campus.

“The hope is to build a judgment-free group or network here that will connect current Washington University undergraduate and graduate students to each other as well as to campus and community resources,” Hoylman said. “We know there is a need, and this grant will help us better reach that population of students.”

The group’s first meeting is 6 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Danforth University Center, Room 248. The event will be open to all undergraduate, graduate and professional students. To learn more, contact Hoylman at 314-935-7386 or ahoylman@wustl.edu.
